
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on March 15 received Counsellor of the President of Republic of Serbia on economic issues Biserka Jevtimijevic Drinjakovic and Serbia’s Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric.
Ms. Jevtimijevic Drinjakovic conveyed the Serbia’s President Boris Tadic’s greetings to the Azerbaijani President. She said, President of Serbia expressed gratitude to his Azerbaijani counterpart for the constructive policy in the Eastern Europe and Balkan regions.
President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that his meetings with Serbian President played an important role in the strengthening of ties between two countries. The Head of State said there is a good ground for the development of economic relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia.
The Azerbaijani President thanked the guests for the Serbian leader’s greetings, and asked them to reciprocate his greetings to the President Boris Tadic.

Noting wide existing relations between the two countries, President Aliyev expressed confidence that the current visit of the Germany’s foreign minister would boost strengthening of partnership between the states even more.
Foreign minister of the Germany Guido Westerwelle informed about the meetings he held in the country, stressing the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Germany. He also underlined the importance of Azerbaijan`s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and future cooperation in this frame.
The Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, energy cooperation and other questions were also focused on in the meeting.
