Azerbaijan and Turkey are 'brotherly countries'

Speaker of Azerbaijan`s parliament Ogtay Asadov yesterday met Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag. Asadov pointed out Azerbaijan`s hosting a centennial celebration of “Turk Ocaglari” Association.

He said reciprocal visits strengthen the unity of Turkic states. Bozdag said the aim of his visit is to expand the unity of Turkic-speaking nations. He pointed out that Azerbaijan and Turkey are “brotherly countries with common religion, language and culture”. He also praised Azerbaijan`s progress over 20 years of independence.

Bozdag stressed the importance of cooperation within Turkic-Speaking Countries Parliamentary Assembly (TurkPA). He thanked Azerbaijani supporting Turkey against the adoption of a bill criminalizing the denial of so-called Armenian genocide.
