“Azerbaijan develops intensively. We are engaged in diversification of county’s economy and here we have also succeeded”, President Ilham Aliyev stated at the opening of the Olympic Complex in country’s Astara region.

“There is revival and progress in all regions, even in the remote areas and farthest villages”, the President said, underlining that the development of every region, in fact, strengthens country’s progress. “Currently, we make significant steps to develop the non-oil sector, agriculture, tourism”, he stressed.

Speaking of concrete plans related to development of the regions, the President said the second phase of State Program for socio-economic development is about completing. “Next year, we have to implement all gas supply projects in regions”, the head of state emphasized.

President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated Kursangi-Yolustu inter-village road in the Salyan region on Tuesday. The Head of State cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the road.

President Ilham Aliyev was updated on the work carried out in the inter-village road.
It runs through Kursangi, Birinji Varli, Yolustu and Yeni Ulikhanli villages.

The road will allow solving transportation problems of about 10 thousand residents from villages of Peyk and Ikinji Varli. The length of the road is 23, 5 km and width is 10 meter.

The President was told that the road was rebuilt with financing of the President`s Reserve Fund. President Ilham Aliyev met with the residents. The Head of State posed for photographs together with the residents.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today visited the newly-rebuilt Juma mosque as part of
his Salyan trip. The Head of State was informed about the reconstruction work in the mosque.

President Ilham Aliyev saw the stand featuring the previous and present look of the mosque.
The Head of State viewed the archeological finds from the Babazanan mountain including various implements, adornments etc.

The mosque was built in 1865. As It was severely affected by the flooding of the Kur river, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism began rebuilding work here, which was completed in June last year. The drainage system was installed to protect from underground waters.

The Juma Mosque has been protected by the state since 2001 as the historical monument of local importance. President Ilham Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the work done here.

During his visit to Salyan, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inspected the Kur hotel after its complete overhaul on Tuesday. The Head of State was informed that the construction of the Kur hotel started in 2009.

The 4-storied building has 57 rooms, which are up to the modern standards as well as restaurant, bar-cafe and market. The elevators were produced by the Gabala Lift Plant of Gilan-Lift LLC.

The hotel was provided with the central air-conditioning system, transformer and water reservoir.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev yesterday  inaugurated the Children`s Technical Creative Center built at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Salyan.

The Head of State cut a ribbon to officially open the facility. In March 2011, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation initiated construction of the new building for the Center. The center was provided with all necessary infrastructure and equipment.

The foyer houses photo galleries reflecting the activity of national leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva as well as Salyan trips of the national leader and the Head of State.

President Aliyev saw photographs depicting the previous and present look of the center and got familiar with children`s handicrafts in the exhibition hall.

The facility houses a library, service rooms, studios and a variety of circles, which will involve over 1700 kids. President Ilham Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the conditions in the center and gave his instructions and recommendations.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in Salyan region of Azerbaijan on Tuesday. The Head of State visited monument to the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in the central park of Salyan and put flowers at it.

The President was informed on redevelopment works carried out in the Heydar Aliyev Park. The Head of State also viewed the photo-stands reflecting the reconstruction works carried out during the past year in Salyan region.

President Ilham Aliyev was also updated on the rebuilding works done in the region.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has today inaugurated “Masera” LLC`s cold-storage warehouse and greenhouse complexes as part of his visit to Masalli.

The Head of State was informed that the capacity of the cold-storage warehouse complex was 1,200 tons, while the greenhouse`s annual capacity was 700 tons.

The complexes were constructed under the State Program on socio-economic development of the regions. The project cost AZN 5 million, including an AZN1 million loan granted by the National Entrepreneurship Support Fund.

The project created 60 jobs. The complex will produce vegetables for export.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today opened the Youth Center in the country`s Masalli region. The President was told the construction of the facility started in 2011.

The facility has a 120-seat cinema hall, exhibition hall, photo gallery, 30-seat conference hall, e-library and cafe.

The Head of State was informed that modern lightning and heating system had been installed in the center.  President Ilham Aliyev met representatives of youth from Bilasuvar, Jalilabad, Masalli, Lankaran, Astara, Lerik and Yardimli.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today attended a groundbreaking ceremony of water and sewerage system in Masalli. The city`s water and sewerage system will rebuilt as part of the Second National Water Supply and Sanitation Project.

President Ilham Aliyev was informed that the project will see the construction of a 5000 cubic meter water reservoir and a water purification center, which will ensure water supply to Masalli and Jalilabad regions.

The drinking water network will include a water reservoir, main water pipeline and distribution pipes. In addition to Masalli, projects to revamp water and sewerage system are carried out in Siyazan, Shabran, Agsu, Ismayilli, Jalilabad, Yardimli and Lerik regions.

President Ilham Aliyev placed a capsule into the foundation and filled it with concrete to mark the beginning of the construction work.

The Head of State visited monument to the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in the central park of Masalli and put flowers on it. The President was informed that the park has been recently reconstructed. In 2011, the Heydar Aliyev Center was created here.

President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated Kijaba-Ojakaran and Kijaba-Gachimarda road in Astara region. The Head of State cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the road.

The 10 km part of the Kijaba-Ojakaran and Kijaba-Gachimarda road was overhauled. About 12 thousand residents from Kijaba settlement and 9 villages use this road. The Flag Square was built at the entry of the settlement and the state flag hoisted at the height of 25 meters. The park was also laid out in the area.

In accordance with executive order of President Ilham Aliyev, reconstruction of the Lovayin reservoir with a capacity of 6.3 million cubic meters and at a depth of 17 meters is underway.
President Ilham Aliyev met with the residents. The Head of State posed for photographs together with the residents.

President Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday inaugurated administrative building for Yeni Azerbaijan Party`s (YAP) Astara regional branch. The Head of State cut a ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the building.

Construction here started in May, 2011. The building holds 700 sq. meters of floor space.

There is bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev inside of the building. The photo gallery around the bust depicts participation of national leader and YAP chairman, President Ilham Aliyev in the party`s congresses. The building consists of several rooms and a conference hall. President Ilham Aliyev gave respective recommendations and instructions.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today inaugurated the Astara central hospital after major repair.

The Head of State saw stands reflecting previous and present look of the hospital.
The ground floor of the hospital has gynecological sections, operating-room, therapy ward for the new-born children, ultrasound investigation, 10 wards, kitchen, buffet and service rooms. The first floor houses the surgery, reanimation and intensive therapy sections, two operating halls, 11 wards, kitchen, buffet and service rooms. The second floor has therapy rooms, 13 wards, cuisine, buffet and service rooms. The park was also laid out in the area of 1.5 hectares.

The Head of State met with staff of the hospital. On behalf of the staff, physician Aliya Hasanova thanked President Ilham Aliyev for attention and care about development of health.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today inaugurated the Astara Olympic Sport Complex. The Head of State cut a ribbon symbolizing an official opening of the facility.

The complex is located on the 5 hectares of land. The construction here began in 2006. It houses photo galleries featuring national leader Heydar Aliyev`s and President Ilham Aliyev`s activities. The complex seats 936 for football, volleyball, basketball, tennis and 172 for swimming.

The complex can be a venue for some kind of events. The President was told that local free-style wrestlers Jabrail Hasanov and Sona Ahmadli won a bronze medal in the world championship in Istanbul. Hasanov booked an Olympic spot.

The Head of State saw four cottages in the area of the complex. President Ilham Aliyev addressed the opening ceremony.

16-fold Azerbaijan champion in field and track athletics Fikret Gafarov thanked the President of the care and attention to sport development.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on March 13 arrived in Astara region of Azerbaijan. The Head of State visited monument to the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in the central park of Astara and put flowers on it. The President was informed that the park has been recently reconstructed. The total area of the park has been extended to 2,5 hectares.
