'Interior Ministry troops developed rapidly'

The Internal Troops of Azerbaijan demonstrated commitment to ensure internal stability and peace, Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov said at the solemn ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Interior, press service of the Ministry of Interior told Trend.

Usubov said Interior Ministry troops developed rapidly, have lost hundreds of martyrs, showing dedication and courage in the defense of Azerbaijani lands, demonstrate the determination to ensure internal stability and peace.

Usubov noted that the soldiers of internal troops successfully cope with the tasks set before them. Soldiers were presented with medals for the Distinguished Service and a group of employees awarded and given ranks.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Commander of Internal Troops, Lieutenant-General Zakir Hasanov also participated at the event.

An appeal to the President of Azerbaijan, Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev was made at the end of the ceremony.
