Chairman of the Azerbaijani Vehdet party linked reasons for opposition's unsuccessful efforts to unite to the fact that the foundation of opposition was originally laid down wrongly.
"Initially, the opposition was created wrongly, so it is obvious that it will always lose," chairman of the Vehdet party Tahir Kerimli told Trend on Friday.
He said leaders of the opposition parties do not have very good relations.
"They are trying, if possible, to humiliate each other. Insincere relations have been established between them, and the public sees it all. Therefore, it is impossible to believe in the sincerity of their models of unity," he said.
Kerimli said functionaries of the opposition continue to accuse each other.
"So I think that the unification of parties can be neither in the form of organization nor leadership. Leaders want to create an organization around their credibility. They want everyone to adopt and unite around them. Therefore, unity models of opposition fail," he said.
Some time ago the political bloc Karabakh, which consists of the opposition Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) and the opposition party Umid, sent a secret letter to opposition parties. It emphasizes the importance of the unification of the opposition. Azerbaijan National Independence Party also put forward such a proposal.
However, the parties didn't take offer of the Karabakh block positive. Thus, parties refuse to express opinion towards this issue, explaining this by the fact they have not received such a letter.
