Azerbaijani, Georgian presidents make joint press statements - UPDATE - PHOTOS

President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili has today visited the Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel as part of his visit to Azerbaijan.

The Georgian leader was welcomed here by Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev.
The Georgian President was informed that the hotel is the Jumeirah Group`s first project in CIS. The Heads of State toured the hotel. Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Mikheil Saakashvili then had a joint dinner.

President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili has today visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Mikheil Saakashvili was welcomed here by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The Georgian President was informed on the activity of the Foundation.

The President of Georgia was told the main goal of the Foundation is to study and popularize prominent political figure Heydar Aliyev`s rich heritage, and assist projects promoting the country`s history and culture.

The Georgian President saw exhibits from the archive of the great leader and pictures depicting various moments of his life. The Georgian President was handed over a keepsake. Mikheil Saakashvili signed the Foundation`s guest book.

Following a ceremony of signing bilateral documents between Azerbaijan and Georgia, Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Mikheil Saakashvili have made joint press statements.

Following an expanded meeting, Azerbaijan and Georgia have signed bilateral documents with participation of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Mikheil Saakashvili.

Chairman of the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan Arif Valiyev and Executive Director of the National Statistics Office of Georgia Zaza Chelidze signed “Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a legal entity of public law - the National Statistics Office of Georgia in the field of statistics”.

Azerbaijan`s Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov and Georgian Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Vladimir Vardzelashvili signed “Agreement on cooperation between the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Georgian Government in the field of sports”.

Following their private meeting, Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Mikheil Saakashvili of Georgia have been joined by their countries` delegations.

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has today been given an official welcome to Azerbaijan.
A guard of honor was lined up for the Georgian President at the square decorated with the national flags of the two countries.

President Mikheil Saakashvili was welcomed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The Heads of State inspected a ceremonial Guard of Honor as an orchestra played the national anthems of Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani state and government officials were introduced to President Mikheil Saakashvili, while members of the Georgian delegation to President Ilham Aliyev. The presidents posed for photographs.

Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Mikheil Saakashvili of Georgia have today met in private. During the meeting, the Presidents expressed satisfaction with development of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia in a variety of fields.

The presidents stressed the importance of high-level reciprocal visits. They added these visits contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation even more.

The two leader expressed confidence that relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia would continue to develop. They also discussed bilateral, regional and international issues.
