' Metsamor NPP is harmful for environment'

Member of Azerbaijani parliament Eldar Ibrahimov discussed environmental issues at the meeting of OSCE PA General Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment.

Ibrahimov underlined that Azerbaijan plays important role in the European energy security with its carbohydrogen resources, adding the country pays great attention to the environmental problems and utilization of renewable energy sources. He stressed the fact that Armenian aggression caused strong damage to environment of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani MP stated that toxic chemicals of Armenia`s Metsamor nuclear power station are harmful for environment. These facts show that Armenia creates perilous ecological situation not only for Azerbaijan, but also for the neighbouring countries. He offered to discuss ecological situation in Armenia at the OSCE PA summer session.
