'Khojaly genocide was a pre-planned act '

Chief of the department of political analysis and information provision at the Azerbaijani President`s Administration has said the Khojaly genocide was a pre-planned tragedy.

“The massacre happened before the Srebrenica or Rwanda massacres. Let it not happen again!” Elnur Aslanov told Turkish Zaman newspaper. “The psychological methods used by Germans against civilians in the World War II, were applied by Armenians against the Azerbaijani people. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan`s words that ‘...our aim was to break a stereotype that Armenians can not annihilate a civil population’ is another testimony to this,” Aslanov said.

He also said that joined by Turks, the Azerbaijani diaspora would stage a rally at Taksim square in Istanbul to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. “The aim is to once again draw the international community`s attention to this crime which targeted the whole humanity." “We want that Khojaly, Srebrenica and Rwanda tragedies never happen again,” Aslanov added.
