Azerbaijan may change conscription terms

The conditions of conscription maybe changed in Azerbaijan due to the transition to 12-year education system, MP Zahid Oruj told Trend. He said in case of the transition to 12-year education system, students will graduate from high school when they will 18-year-old.

"This means that the conditions of military service will be changed. What will do the higher education institutions, how the education system will progress? A broad public discussion is required to define the answers and then a decision will be submitted to the Parliament," he said.
 
Not just one ministry or governmental body will make a decision on the transition to 12-year education system. The transition to such a system requires a broad public debate.
 
The draft National Education Strategy stipulates transition to 12-year education system.
