World Azerbaijanis to commemorate Khojaly genocide

Commemorative events to mark the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide will be held in many countries of the world. The All-Russia Congress of Azerbaijanis, Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s Office in Moscow and Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia, AMOR will organize conferences and roundtable meetings to honor memory of victims of Khojaly massacre.

As part of the Justice for Khojaly campaign AMOR will arrange the events in various regions of Russia. Commemorative events to mark the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide will also be held in Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Bulgaria.

At the initiative of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation and Ukrainian Azerbaijani Youth Union February was declared “The month of Khojaly” in Ukraine.
As part of “The month of Khojaly”, the first event was held in Kharkov which brought together local officials, members of the Azerbaijani community, journalists. The event participants said international organizations must give legal and political assessment to the Khojaly genocide.
The Congress of Ukrainian Azerbaijanis will organize an event to commemorate the anniversary of Khojaly massacre on February 25.

The memory of victims of Khojaly tragedy will be honored in Minsk, Chisinau. The events will be organized by Congress of Azerbaijani Communities in Belarus and Congress of Azerbaijanis in Moldova.

The 20th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide will be marked in Vilnius and Tallinn by the Lithuanian Azerbaijanis Society and “Aydan” Estonia-Azerbaijan Culture Center. The victims of the Khojaly tragedy will also be commemorated in the US, Germany, France, Italy, UK, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, Canada, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Turkey, Finland, Czechia, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. The events in these countries will be attended by parliamentarians, members of Azerbaijani, Turkish and Jewish Diaspora organizations, representatives of public and political organizations.
