'Khojaly genocide is a crime against humanity'

Azerbaijani MPs will raise the issue of the Khojaly tragedy at the winter session of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, vice-speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Bahar Muradova told media on Thursday. The OSCE PA winter session will be held in Vienna on February 23-24.
She said that Azerbaijan will continue making efforts for the parliaments of foreign countries to recognise the Khojaly genocide.

"The Khojaly genocide is a crime against humanity and parliaments of other countries must express their attitude towards this issue," Ms Muradova said.

The Armenian military forces committed genocide in Khojaly on Feb.26, 1992. More than 600 people were killed including 63 children, 106 women and 70 elderly men. Some 487 civilians were also njured during the genocide. In addition, 1275 passive residents were taken hostage, while the fate of 150 remains unknown.
