Rome hosts conference on human rights in Azerbaijan - PHOTOS

The International Affairs Institute, IAI, in Rome, Italy has organized a conference called “Democratic Institutions and Human Rights in Azerbaijan: what role for the Transatlantic Community?”.

Ettore Greco, IAI Director opened the event held as part of the "Azerbaijan, Caucasus and the EU: towards close cooperation" research project. IAI Deputy Director Nathalie Tocci, former US ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza, Project Director on South Caucasus, International Crisis Group Lawrence Sheet and Assistant Professor and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy Anar Valiyev made speeches at the conference.
Marc Behrendt, Caucasus Programme Manager of Conciliation Resources was the host of the event.

The conference featured discussions on work carried out in Azerbaijan to ensure democratization and human rights and fundamental freedoms during the past 20 years.
