Azerbaijan's cooperation with OAS mulled

Azerbaijani ambassador to the United States, the country's permanent observer to the Organization of American States (OAS) Elin Suleymanov met with OAS Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza, the embassy said Thursday.

The main topics of the meeting were Azerbaijan's cooperation with the OAS and relations with Latin America.

Suleymanov noted that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to cooperation with the OAS, and stressed the benefits of its further expansion. Insulza said that he highly appreciates cooperation with Azerbaijan, and also thanked the country for supporting various programs of the organization.

The Ambassador noted that in recent years, Azerbaijan has expanded diplomatic presence in Latin America; currently there are Azerbaijani embassies in Argentina and Mexico and the embassy to Brazil will be inaugurated in the near future.
