UAE -Azerbaijan relations praised

UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan is on a working visit to Azerbaijan. He held a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov and discussed bilateral cooperation.

According to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, the trade turnover between the two countries in January-October 2011 amounted to $76.3 million, or 1.5 times more over the same period of 2010.

The FM stressed the successful development of cooperation between the two countries and the potential to its further development, the press service said.

He also thanked the UAE for supporting Azerbaijan's position in the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Stressing the harmonious atmosphere for mutual investments, the UAE FM emphasized the importance of both countries' energy cooperation.

Al Nahyan reiterated his country's willingness to support Azerbaijan's efforts to return the occupied territories peacefully.
