
Azerbaijan’s ambassador to the South African Republic Elkhan Polukhov has paid a working visit to Capetown. During the trip, Polukhov participated in a meeting of the country`s parliament.
The South African President Jacob Zuma spoke of the country`s achievements in 2011 and plans for 2012.
The Azerbaijani ambassador also met Foreign Minister Nkosazana Dalmini-Zuma. Polukhov briefed Dalmini-Zuma on the successful development of Azerbaijan. He said both countries passed a similar way of development in the early 1990`s, holding a long struggle for their independence.
The diplomat underlined there is a big potential to develop ties between Azerbaijan and the South African Republic.
The FM noted the significant role of Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus and said the country praised the opening of the Azerbaijani embassy.
