'France's attempts to accuse Turkey are groundless'

The Turkish speaking states policy support foundation in Bishkek made statement against French Senate`s bill criminalizing the denial of the so-called “Armenian genocide. The statement was submitted to the French Embassy in Kyrgyzstan.

The statement says: “The French National Assembly and the Senate`s pro-Armenian deputies use the 1915 events for their political purposes. It roughly violates the freedom of speech and human rights. The historians but not the political figures must give appraisal to these events. The government of Turkey offered to open the archives, attract scientists and to bring to light the historical realities. Armenia ignores these calls. That`s why, the attempts of France to accuse Turkey are groundless. If France supports the justice it must recognize the Khojaly Genocide committed by Armenians 20 years ago.
