Heti Világgazdaság (World Economy Weekly) or HVG, a Hungarian weekly economic and political magazine, published an article by AzerTAc correspondent in Hungary Parvana Garayeva. The article covers the Azerbaijan’s role in ensuring Europe’s energy security.
The article appeared as part of the piece on the problem of ensuring safe supply of natural gas to the frozen in bone chilling cold Europe. The author describes successful policies of the Government of Azerbaijan to diversify energy export routes to world consumers and stresses that the issue of European energy security can not be completely resolved without an immediate settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh on the basis of international law. Therefore, the European Union as the main consumer of natural gas from the Caspian fields, the article reads, should make efforts to persuade Armenia to stop the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh, and thus get safer access to the Caspian hydrocarbons.
