'France's bill directed not only against Turkey, but also entire Turkic world'

Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister, Chief of the State Committee for Work with Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov has today met a delegation of the French parliament led by senator Nathalie Goulet. Hasanov briefed the French delegation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, in particular Armenians` atrocities against Azerbaijanis.

The Committee chairman also highlighted what the Azerbaijani government had been doing to improve the living conditions of refugees and IDPs. He said 70 modern settlements for refugees and IDPs were constructed.

On French parliament`s bill criminalizing the denial of so-called Armenian genocide, the Hasanov stressed “it is directed not only against Turkey, but also the entire Turkic world”. “The bill is also against French people`s interest,” he added.

Goulet expressed her hope that Azerbaijan`s problem of refugees and IDPs would be solved in the nearest future. The Senator also said she believed the French Constitutional Council would reject the Senate`s pro-Armenian bill.
