Russia intends to complete Gabala RS lease talks

Russia intends to complete Gabala Radar Station lease extension talks with Azerbaijan by June 2012, Deputy Minister of Defense Anatoly Antonov told Russian journalists. According to him, the delegation of Azerbaijan is expected to arrive in Moscow within the next two weeks to conduct the next round of negotiations on the issue.

Antonov pointed out the new deal should be struck no later than six months ahead of expiry of the old agreement. “We have all necessary instructions from the leadership. The remaining issues are the matter of technicality,” he said.
