German media highlights Azerbaijan’s successful participation in Davos

The influential German newspaper Handelsblatt published an article “Oh, how beautiful Azerbaijan is!”

The article says: “Azerbaijan successfully participated in the World Economic Forum in Davos. This year, there was no observed the domination of the USA, China and Russia over the forum, while Azerbaijan took an active part here. President Ilham Aliyev seeks attention and finds it. The posters about Azerbaijan`s beauty were hanged up along the central streets of the Davos.

A special panel was set aside for Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev made speech at the discussions on the topic “The future of Eurasia.” The forum participants received the presents about Azerbaijan, including three CDs of Karabakh mugham, six booklets about history, culture, architecture, cuisine and carpets of the country and invitations to the Azerbaijani soiree in the hotel “Schweitzerhof.”

“The situation is similar to the states of the Persian gulf: Azerbaijan is a rich country with huge reserves of oil and gas. Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) produces large economic potential of the country. Currently, the machine building, ICT and tourism are rapidly developing. In order to rank with Dubai and Singapore, the county should pass a long way and first of all to attract the foreign investors.”

“The forum is the best place to search the serious investors. During the five days, the world`s political and economic elites gathered here. The dependence from Russian gas and oil may be reduced owing to the Nabucco gas pipeline. The Azerbaijanis could establish important contacts and are in the center of attention.”

“President Aliyev will visit Germany. The Head of State will make speech within the Munich Security Conference. The way to Europe runs through Germany. And the one who wins respect and honor here will be recognized around the world,” the article said.
