World record five-tonne chocolate bar sends chocoholics into meltdown

The four-piece bar was weighed at a mouth watering yet precise 12,290 pounds, or a whopping 5.5 tonnes.

Smashing the previous Guinness World Record by more than a tonne, workers and hundreds of guests looked on in amazement as the 21-foot long treat made its way across the factory floor in Chicago.

World's Finest Chocolate created the bar as part of a campaign called  'Think Big Eat Smart' which is aimed at teaching American school children about proportionate eating. 

Now if you're thinking about recreating the record here is the secret recipe: 1,200 pounds of almonds, 5,500 pounds of sugar, 2,000 pounds of milk powder, 1,700 pounds of cocoa butter and 1,400 pounds of chocolate liquor. - all approximate of course, so adjust to taste.

An Armenian company located in the capital Yerevan called The Grand Candy factory held the previous record with a 9,702lb monster snack.
