Australian weatherman Steve Jacobs has become a YouTube phenomenon after being attacked by a pelican while his colleagues were filming him.
Steve was at Sydney's Taronga Zoo filming a segment for Channel Nine's Today Show when Marnie the pelican seemed to take a bit of a dislike to him - or maybe she just wanted to be on TV? - and lunged towards him.
The unflappable Steve maintained his composure and continued his piece, but Marnie redoubled her efforts and cornered against a wall, where she proceeded to peck his backside repeatedly.
Alternating between laughter and mild screams of terror, Jacobs cried out "Let me go!" before a zookeeper pulled the pugnacious piscivore away.
The presenter broke into laughter and joked that he would be 'mentally scarred' by the attack.
"It's beak can fit more than its belly can, I'll tell you what," he joked to the camera.
His colleagues teased him about the harmless bout of pecking.
"Not the first time he's been pinched in the butt by a bird," Today Show host Karl Stefanovic quipped.
