The children went to Anniviers and were returning to Belgium. The bus carrying passengers was recorded in Belgium, told the news agency.
In Brussels, the Belgian Foreign Ministry said that most children were aged around 12 and the bus was one of three hired by a Christian group. The bus was traveling last night to local and Sion hit a wall in the motorway tunnel running from east to west and exit at Sierre.
Valais cantonal police initially reported injuries only. The bus was carrying 52 passengers in the cities of Flanders in Lommel and Heverlee.
