Days of Azerbaijani films in Washington

Days of Azerbaijani films with support of the “Karabakh Foundation” in USA took place in Washington.
The film “Condemned” made by request of Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Culture and Tourism was demonstrated in cinema hall “Leteliye” as well as in George Mason University.

The visitors met with director of the film Mehriban Alakbarzade. She told of revival of Azerbaijan`s film industry adding the film “Condemned” narrates on the sole clinic in the Caucasus region for leprosy patients located near Baku, in Umbaki settlement.

Mrs. Alakbarzade met with Tom Weakly, coordinator of the films of Stimson Institute, which includes six national museums and galleries of the USA to discuss issues of cooperation.

She also met Mary Jane Dib, chief of department for Africa and Middle East of library of US Congress to discuss posting audio materials on Azerbaijan. Representatives of the library thanked “Karabakh Foundation” for such event. Mrs. Alakbarzade gave an interview to “Azerbaijan radio hour” broadcasted on US`s “New World Radio”.
