The 9th International Theater Festival is currently underway in Chimkent, Kazakhstan, celebrating the rich cultural connections and cooperative ties in theater arts among Central Asian and Turkic-speaking nations.
According to Azernews, citing the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, the festival also marks the 95th anniversary of the Chimkent City Academic Kazakh Drama Theater named after J. Shanin.
Featuring outstanding performances from theaters across Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Tatarstan, and Kazakhstan, the festival showcases the best of regional theater art. In addition to the performances, the program includes roundtable discussions, where leading theater experts will review and discuss the showcased works, along with specialized master classes for directors, actors, and theater managers led by renowned international instructors.
The festival will run until November 11, offering a platform for artistic exchange and enhancing collaboration in theater arts among participating nations.
