Heydar Aliyev Foundation to organize Third Int'l Mugham Festival in Baku

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Azerbaijan Composers Union will organize the 3rd International Mugham Festival ‘World of Mugham’ in Baku on March 9-19.

Opening ceremony of the Festival will take place on March 9 at the Heydar Aliyev Center.

The festival will feature performances of Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra, Folk Instruments Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra, Dance Ensemble, Song and Dance Ensemble, and Choral Chapel.

At the International Mugham Center the Festival will continue with performances by Simara Imanova, Tayyar Bayramov, Sebuhi Ibayev, Ilkin Ahmedov, Elnur Zeynalov, Arzu Aliyeva, Vusale Musayeva, Afaq Abbasova, Farid Aliyev, Babek Nifteliyev, Sabina Arabli, Gullu Muradova and Shahin Novresli .

The traditional International Mugham Festival is held with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in March every two years. The first International Mugam Festival was held in 2009, while the second in 2011. The event is aimed at preserving and developing the art of mugham, and discover new talents.
