New feature film ''The simplest surname '' about the life of national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev (1923-2003) is being shot in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani MP Elmira Akhundova, who wrote two books – “Heydar Aliyev” and “Personality & Epoch” said the film’s script is based on those books.
The film is being shot at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio in Azerbaijan, Ramiz Fataliyev is the director of the movie.
According to Fataliyev, the film covers Heydar Aliyev’s lifetime from1923 and up to 1969, when he was elected the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist party of the Azerbaijan SSR.
Russian actor Alexander Nikitin was chosen to portray a younger Heydar Aliyev in the movie.
Aside from Nikitin, there are other Russian actors participating in the film, which is being shot in Nakhchivan (Azerbaijan), Moscow, St. Petersburg and Riga (Latvia).
The film is scheduled to wrap up in May of 2013, close to marking the 90th birthday of Heydar Aliyev.
