Azerbaijan joins symposium on Caucasian nations’ folklore

An international scientific symposium entitled “The folklore of the Caucasian nations and Linguoculturology” took place in Georgian capital Tbilisi on April 18. The symposium co-organized by the Institute of Folklore of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World, Turkish Ardahan University, the Caucasus Universities Union and Sukhumi State University

Symposium was dedicated to the memory of Doctor of Philology, professor, author of 30 books and researcher on Azerbaijan-Georgia relations Valeh Hajilar.

The event discussed problems of Turkology and the Study of Caucasus, the folklore, history and culture of Caucasian nations, linguoculturology: areal linguistics, typology and comparavistics.
The rector of the Tbilisi State University Alexander Kvitashvili wished good luck to symposium participants.

“It’s a great symposium organized by Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. More than 200 scientists attended the event” said the professor of the Valeh Hajilar International Scientific-Cultural Research Foundation Chingiz Alyilmaz. Professor of the University Of Ardahan Shuraddin Mammadli emphasized the importance of the symposium.

He noted this symposium is a continuation of the mutual cooperation, business community and strategic alliance processes between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. “I am sure that such conferences will contribute to the further deepening of relations between our countries”, said Mammadli.

“Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey are not only neighboring countries, but also friendly, safe and living in peaceful countries”, head of the International Caucasological Research Institute Tsira Baramidze said.
