Anggun says Eurovision 2012 is experience not-to-miss!

France's representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, singer Anggun is excited with her upcoming visit to Baku.

"I am excited to go to Baku, because Azerbaijan is a country in the middle of so many cultural crossroads and influences: European, Asian and Middle-Eastern," Anggun said in an interview with Trend.

She said she has never been to Baku. "So that is why I am really excited to go there. I have seen a report on CNN in the US about the strong and speedy development of Azerbaijan and how the country is becoming an major economic platform in the region. I was impressed to see footage of amazing buildings and how fast the Eurovision Crystal Stadium was emerging from the ground. I hope to make many friends there," Anggun said.

She said the winners of last year Ell & Nikki were fantastic. "The song was catchy and the performance very touching. They definitely deserved to win. I hope to meet them," the singer said.

According to Anggun, Eurovision song contest is the occasion of meeting people across Europe and it's a fantastic opportunity to meet amazing artists, to listen to great music from lots of countries, and more importantly to share our passion for songs and music with the Azeri audience and probably over 200m viewers worldwide .

"It's an experience not-to-miss! It's an great event that embraces many music talents across Europe who share their love for music to millions of people across the world," she said.
Anggun underlined that it was a great surprise and honor for her to be chosen as France's representative at Eurovision song contest.

"I don't think they have chosen me because of my popularity but beforehand because they liked my music repertoire, my live performances and my artistic identity. That was the first and main reason. Popularity does not help at Eurovision. The song is the real star," she added.

The singer is going demonstrate something very different from what France has proposed over the last few years. "I want something new, entertaining and fresh. It's Eurovision: people want to have fun and be happy. There will be fantastic dancers," Anggun said.
