Rome hosts "Land of Fires on the Silk Road" exhibition - PHOTOS

In the framework of Biennial of Culture of the East countries, an exhibition titled “Azerbaijan – “The Land of Fires” on the Silk Road” was opened in the Museum of Roman Civilizations in Rome, the embassy of Azerbaijan in Italy said.

The event was organized in frameworks of the program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy and the Mayoralty of Rome. At the opening of exhibition, speaking was the minister of culture and tourism of Azerbaijan Abulfas Garaev, the organizer of biennial, president of “Zetema” group at the Mayoralty of Rome Francesca Marceline, the deputy chief department of Rome on History, Archeology and Cultural Monuments Renata Piccinini, the director of the Museum of Roman Civilizations Lukrecia Ungaro.

Minister Garayev in his remarks underlined that relations between Azerbaijan and Italy develop normally, noting the historical roots of these relations. The minister stressed importance of cultural exchange for the further deepening of friendly ties. For acquaintance of the Italian public with culture of Azerbaijan, this year the Heydar Aliyev Foundation plans a number of actions, the Minister said. The opening ceremony was attended by men of science and art, representatives of diplomatic corps and mass media. The exhibition festival will last till the end of May.
