New films to appear on Azerbaijan’s screen

Azerbaijan is expected to complete the shooting of more than 10 documentaries, movies and cartoons in 2012, Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry’s cinematography sector head Yusif Sheikhsov said.  He said the shooting of these films are carried out not only in Azerbaijan but also abroad, including in Germany, Georgia and Turkey.
 
He said this year Azerbaijani film directors and screenwriters work on the films "I'm going back home" – director Sabir Ceyhungolu and screenwriter Ismail Seferali, "City" – director Elkhan Jafarov and screenwriter Agil Abbas, "Ambassador of dawn" - director Ramiz Hasanoglu and screenwriter Anar, "Red Garden" - director and screenwriter Mirbala Salimli, "To die unavenged" - director and screenwriter Oktay Mirgasim.
 
The film "Do not worry, I'm with you-2" shot together with Russian specialists, as well as the film "Mahmood and Mary” shot jointly with the Turkish counterparts, will soon be presented. He said several documentaries will also be shot together with Spain and Germany. One of these films will be devoted to the Azerbaijani jazz.
 
"Short films by young directors and winners of the" Bu meydan bu ekran’ contest will also be completed this year.  The next competition for young filmmakers will start at the beginning of the year." The shooting of a cartoon "Cyclops" was delayed due to technical difficulties and the shooting will be completed by the end of winter, he added.
