Baku hosts 2nd Azerbaijan-Sweden Forum

The 2nd Azerbaijan-Sweden Forum was held in the residence of Baku Nobel Heritage Fund (BNHF) yesterday. The discussions focused on investment environments in both countries and business opportunities as part of the forum.

Addressing the forum, president of Baku Nobel Heritage Fund Togrul Bagirov expressed his satisfaction on the organization of the event in Villa Petrolea, built in 1884. “Villa Petrolea was a residence for Nobel brothers for almost 50 years. In 1879 they established the Brothers Nobel Oil Company – "Branobel", which very soon became one of the biggest oil companies in the world and the only vertically integrated. BNHF was established in 2004 as a civil initiative to restore the Nobel brothers` heritage in Baku. Villa Petrolea is now home to the Nobel Brothers` Museum, International Conference Centre and Baku Nobel Oil Club,” Togrul Bagirov said.

Head of the Swedish delegation, deputy minister of the Foreign Affairs Frank Belfrage said that the dynamic development of economy, business and financial environment of Azerbaijan are very useful for Swedish companies.

“Azerbaijan is a partnership country of the European Union in the protection of general values, guarantee of stability and security, as well as creation of suitable business and investment conditions,” he added.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan Gulmammad Javadov informed on economic reforms carrying out in Azerbaijan and progress archived in the creation of advantageous business environment in the country.
