10 October 2011 [18:30] - TODAY.AZ
The number of recipients of targeted social assistance is not expected to be sharply increased in Azerbaijan in 2012, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection Ilgar Rahimov said.

"The number of recipients of targeted social assistance will increase after the level of need criterion increases [at present it is 75 manat]," he said.

He said that the ministry will implement the "self-support" project within the new program of targeted social assistance across the country from 2012.

"Today, we are at the final stage of the pilot project," Rahimov said. He said that this project has caused a wide resonance among the population. "First, we planned to implement this project in the field of agriculture," he said. But now we receive appeals from other spheres."

The similar pilot operations will be carried out in Masalli, Guba in 2011. The project will cover all areas of the republic.
