Sports and concert complex to be built on National Flag Square in Baku

A new sports and concert complex will be built on the National Flag Square in Baku, the Azerbaijani State Property Committee said.

"The negotiations were held with some famous international companies to design and construct a modern sports and concert complex in the shortest possible period," the State Committee said. "The relevant state bodies also participated in the negotiations."

According to the report, famous German company Alpine Bau Deutchland AG was chosen a contractor as a result of the negotiations.

"The main contract was signed with the company on Aug. 2," the statement said. "The area was determined to construct the complex. The necessary preparatory work is conducted to begin the construction operations. The complex will be built on the National Flag Square in Baku."

According to the contract, Alpine Bau Deutchland AG must complete the work within eight months.

"The complex called "Bakı Kristal Zalı" will be designed and built according to the modern standards," the statement said. "The complex will meet all the requirements and standards necessary to successfully conduct the cultural events of international scale."
