Azerbaijan increases grain production

The wheat production in Azerbaijan is expected to increase by 333,300 tons or 25.5%, this year, said the operative information of Ministry of Agriculture on autumnal and spring cereals and cereals leguminous s of August 22.

According to information, the reaping works in 99.7% of 933,300 ha area where cereals and cereals leguminous were planted have been completed. Totally, 2.3 mln tons harvest was collected so far, up 450,000 tons or 24.2% from year earlier. 24.7 metric centners of harvest were collected from per ha, up 4.9metric centner or 24.7% from year ago.

654,200 ha area were planted with wheat and 99.97% of wheat growing areas have been reaped. 1.640 mln tons of wheat has been collected from the reaped areas, up 25.5% in comparison to a year earlier.
