Kjetil Tungland: Final decision on TAP construction project will be passed by Shahdeniz consortium

Final decision on TAP (Trans Adriatic Pipeline) construction project will be passed by Shahdeniz consortium, said the TAP managing director Kjetil Tungland at the 18th Oil – Gas Conference – 2011: "We’ll send our proposals to them".

According to him, firstly, 10 bcm of gas is planned to deliver to Europe and next transportation wil make 20 bcm.

"However, TAP’s opportunities are over 20 bcm. The project was accorded with Shahdeniz project, completely. Construction of pipeline will be started in 2013, gas transportation – in 2017".

"We intend to increase the positive impact of project, eliminate the negative impact. The rout line of pipeline will be determined by 2011 end. At present 16 routes are considered. Note that, TAP is ye shortest route for gas delivery to European markets", he added.
