Azerbaijani companies recommended to apply international food safety management system

The introduction of international food safety management system (HACCP, ISO 22000) will play an important role in promoting the export of Azerbaijani goods to foreign markets, including in European Union countries, and protection of consumers and ensuring the population with qualitative and safe products, the Economic Development Ministry reported on Tuesday.

The State Consumer Protection and Antitrust Policy Service under the Economic Development Ministry has today launched a seminar on the theoretical and practical aspects of implementing systems of HACCP, ISO 22,000 at enterprises with support from the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) as a part of education activities.

The two-day seminars will be attended by up to 50 entrepreneurs engaged in the production and processing of hazelnuts and pomegranate juice, as well as specialists of relevant state bodies.

Foreign experts invited by the GIZ will inform about the basics of systems of HACCP, ISO 22000, their use at enterprises, the requirements for the packaging of products, labeling, storage, transportation, the establishment of the enterprises the control system.
