Azerbaijan sees rise in number of tourists

Last year the number of tourists traveling Azerbaijan increased 100,000 people compared to the previous year, Azerbaijan’s Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev said.

“We were expecting the global crisis to reduce the number of tourists. On the contrary, the country saw an increase of 100,000 in number of tourists,” Garayev noted.  

The minister said the lower prices in tourism sphere will be ensured only in case companies in this field engage in a stronger competition.
