SOCAR celebrates commissioning of catalytic reforming installation

About 18 million tons of high-octane petrol were produced during 30 years on the catalytic reforming installation at the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery of SOCAR, David Mammadov, vice-president on refining issues in SOCAR, said during a ceremony on the 30th anniversary of commissioning the installation.

He said that the catalytic reforming allows producing high-octane fuel without additives and leading content in Azerbaijan.

The catalytic reforming was commissioned on Dec. 14, 1980. The first production was obtained on December 16. The installation was based on the technology of the U.S company UOP. The project was implemented by the French company Litvin.

"During the ceremony, representatives of SOCAR, as well as refinery employees familiarized with the process of production. They also visited other important production capacity of the plant.

SOCAR head Rovnag Abdullaev issued a decree on awarding six employees of the plant with diplomas.
