"Nabucco to be filled, no matter what others say"

“There will be no problem with filling of Nabucco pipeline, no matter what the certain circles say”, such a view was expressed by Azerbaijani Member of Parliament’s foreign policy and responsible for relations with the European Union and the European Parliament Fuad Muradov to the popular Bulgarian news agency “Standart”.

“Azerbaijan has enough gas and mining to fill the pipe, which capacity is 16 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually. It is not excluded that when the pipeline is built and operate, the later volumes will be transported by it to be increased because of growing demand for energy resources in Europe and worldwide,” Muradov explained.

“Moreover, Nabucco is not the only project in the gas sector in which Azerbaijan participates. The country is working with all of its neighbors and partners in the east, west, north and south, with exception of Armenia, which has serious problems over the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. The policy of Baku is directed towards integration with the European Union and this is the reason to maintain the participation of Azerbaijan in Nabucco project”, the MP pointed out.

Muradov believes that disputes about whether the project is sufficiently profitable are redundant, since the presence of such major countries and companies in it is proof enough that tube is economically advantageous and can count on a quick return on investment. According to Muradov  such projects are generally speaking rather doubts about their profitability. However, this ends as soon as actual construction starts. The general opinion in Azerbaijan is that Nabucco project will be implemented and that is a sufficient prerequisite.
