13 December 2010 [17:47] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev will hold talks with representatives of the Egyptian energy sector today during his visit to the country on Dec. 14-18, the ministry said.

Earlier, a number of proposals concerning oil and gas exploration, production and processing were discussed between the sides. The issue of cooperation between the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic, as well as the opening of a branch of the Oil Academy in Egypt, was raised during Egyptian Oil Minister Sameh Fahmy's visit to Azerbaijan in July.

During President Ilham Aliyev's upcoming visit to Egypt, discussions will be held to achieve specific agreements to forge cooperation in the energy and other sectors. He may also meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif.

The minister is also expected to tour Egyptian industrial enterprises during the visit. Meetings are also planned to be held with the SUMED, MODOR and Al-Amria refineries.
