Azerbaijani minister: A consortium will be set up to deal with implementation of TASIM project

Azerbaijan's minister of communication and information technologies Ali Abbasov said a consortium will be set up next year to deal with the implementation of the Trans-Eurasian Information Superhighway (TASIM) project.

“The project is now being discussed by the region's leading operators,” the minister told journalists.

“The countries participating in the TASIM have already expressed readiness to take concrete steps towards realizing the project.”

The Trans-Eurasian Information Superhighway is an initiative proposed by Azerbaijan to expand inexpensive high-speed access to the Internet and bridge the digital divide between East and West.
