Azerbaijan's ICT revenues to grow by 30%

The growth of Azerbaijan's revenues from information and communication technologies will reach 30% by late 2010, Communications and IT Minister Ali Abbasov said.

He said that the figure is on average three times ahead of the world average figures.

"The growth in the sector exceeded 33% as of nine months. The figure must hit approximately 30% per year by late 2010. Azerbaijan was included in the ten countries with rapidly developing ICT sector in a recent report of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)," Abbasov said.

According to the ministry, the growth in the telecommunications sector amounted to 33.9%, postal services - 20,7% over the last period.
