The Geophysics and Geology Department of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and “bp Exploration” signed a Memorandum of Understanding on providing technical services on Friday.
The MoU was signed by chief of the Geophysics and Geology Department Vagif Abdullayev and vice-president of the “bp-Exploration” on exploration Greg Riley.
The MoU outlines the signing of a contract between the sides on future exploration, processing of seismological information, drawing up of geologic-geophysics maps and provision of technical services.
Speaking to the ceremony, first vice-president of SOCAR, academician Khoshbakht Yusifzade praised bp company`s activity in Azerbaijan. He expressed confidence for further cooperation with bp.
Vice-president of the “bp-Exploration” Greg Riley congratulated Yusufzade and SOCAR staff on recent discovery of the “Umid” gas field in the Caspian Sea. The attendees watched presentation of 4 projects prepared at the request of bp.
