Baku hosts conference of ministers of SPECA member-states

A conference of ministers of the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) member states began in Baku. Deputy Minister of Economic Development Niyazi Safarov told of purpose of SPECA, Azerbaijan`s membership to the program and significance of the conference.

SPECA was launched in 1998 to strengthen subregional cooperation in Central Asia and its integration into the world economy.

The members of SPECA are Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
