"Kuwait interested in development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in oil sector"

Kuwait is interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan in the oil sector, Azerbaijani ambassador to this country Shahin Abdullayev told Trend. Prospects of cooperation in this sphere has recently discussed by the Kuwaiti Oil Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah al-Sabah and Azerbaijan's ambassador.

At the meeting Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah al-Sabah expressed interest in the country's participation at the 17th international exhibition and conference "Oil and Gas, Oil Refining and Petro-chemistry of the Caspian Sea", to be held June 1-4 in Baku, the ambassador said over telephone from Kuwait.

The diplomat reminded the minister about the invitation to visit Azerbaijan on behalf of the country's Minister of Industry and Energy Natik Aliyev.

Expressing his intention to visit Azerbaijan and hold discussions on cooperation between the two countries in the oil and energy fields, Kuwait's minister regretted that he could not participate in an exhibition in connection with the previously planned schedule of visits. At the same time, he did not rule out the possibility of changes in his work schedule.

Sheikh Abdullah al-Sabah expressed his intention to visit Azerbaijan in 2010. Noting the importance of holding discussions at the international exhibition and conference, as well as establishing relations with companies operating in the region, the Kuwaiti minister said that participation of the delegation of the Kuwait's Oil and Information Ministry at the exhibition will be considered.
