CBA: Azerbaijani banks have high liquidity

Azerbaijani banks do not require significant funds, as they have a high level of liquidity, Head of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Elman Rustamov said.

"Banks are more engaged in activities to distribute the available resources more efficiently and safely. Azerbaijani banks do not seek funds from the foreign banks due to the high liquidity," Rustamov said.

He noted a growth tendency in the bank's credit portfolio, as well as the acceptable level of overdue loans.

"The volume of deposits is high, and we can observe a thigh dynamics and lower interest rates. The advantage of all this is that the real sector, including people, can get more affordable loans," Rustamov said.
