
On Friday morning three tanks with SOCAR's diesel fuel derailed in Samgori (Georgia) as a result of technical problems on the railway, "Georgian Railway" Ltd told Trend. No one was injured.
SOCAR Energy Georgia, which is a subsidiary of SOCAR in Georgia, also confirmed the incident.
"Derailment of tanks occurred because of the railroad. They do not deny it," the source said.
According to him, as a result of derailment, three tanks spilled diesel fuel. At present, pumping of the remaining tanks has been completed. Two four-axle and one eight axle tank derailed.
At present, specialists, who investigate the cause of the incident, are operating.
After completion of the process, the damage of the company will be calculated. The Georgian railway will pay the costs for the damage, a source said.
Movement by railway is continued, because the accident occurred in Navtlugi.
