SOCAR ready to launch drilling new exploration wells in Caspian Sea

SOCAR reports that transportation and installation of the platform on drilling site where sea depth is 34 m will take three months.

After that the Company will start drilling works.

At first SOCAR will drill well #90 with depth of 5,700 m to eighth productive strata.

If result of this well’s drilling is positive, then the second one will be drilled.

Geologists estimate that major part of this field’s reserves (17 bn cu m) concentrated precisely in VIII strata.

The field has been operated since 1975. Nearly 62 bn cu m and 11 million tons of oil and condensate has been produced from the field so far.
