Flydubai accomplishes first flight from Dubai to Baku

Dubai city’s first budget company Flydubai fulfilled its inaugural flight to Baku on Nov. 22.
Director General of Flydubai Gate Al Gate said in the news conference in Baku that  Flydubai considers  Baku as an important economic and financial center of South Caucasus and its significance will only grow.

“We believe that Flydubai can make a contribution to development of tourism in Azerbaijan by attracting visitors and potential investors from United Arab Emirates and other countries of the world,” Al Gate said.

“Despite that Flydubai is a budget airline, the most important priority for us is safety of passengers,” Al Gate said.

The model of Flydubai company is that customers pay only for services they want to be rendered.

“Price for a single ticket from Baku in Dubay is $165.  It includes all taxes and one item of carry-on with weight of up to 10 kilograms. We believe that this system of services makes expenses on the trip more just,” G. Al Gate said.

Having paid only $11, passengers can register their first luggage. In order to  register the second luggage, which should not exceed 32 kilograms, passenger needs to pay $28.

Flydubai was established in March, 2008 by the Dubai government in order to  render alternative transport services to, for the most part, emigrant population of United Arab Emirates and thousands of people,  traveling to Emirates for the purpose of business and to have a rest.

Initial capital of the airline is $68 million.
